In addition, the report provides in-depth insights into consumer behavior during the first six months of 2024, with comparisons to the same period last year. In this edition, iPOS.vn also introduces a dedicated, in-depth study on human resources in Vietnam\u2019s F&B sector.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1140\" data-end=\"1525\">Within the framework of Vietnam F&B Summit 2024, more than 10 leading speakers\u2014including business leaders and top industry experts\u2014gathered to discuss the performance of the F&B market in the first half of 2024 and explore effective investment and business strategies amid ongoing economic challenges. The event was proudly supported and sponsored by Nestl\u00e9 Vietnam and Tan Nhat Huong.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1527\" data-end=\"1591\">Mr. Vu Thanh Hung, Chief Executive Officer of iPOS.vn, shared:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"2037\">\n<p data-start=\"1594\" data-end=\"2037\">\u201cThe first half of 2024 witnessed significant volatility, posing numerous challenges for the service sector, especially the F&B industry. However, Vietnamese F&B businesses have demonstrated remarkable flexibility by swiftly adjusting operations, cutting unnecessary costs, and optimizing cash flow. At the same time, continuous innovation in product development has delivered fresh culinary experiences, attracting a wide range of consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2044\" data-end=\"2094\">About the Vietnam Food & Beverage Market Report<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2096\" data-end=\"2475\">The <em data-start=\"2100\" data-end=\"2166\">Vietnam Food & Beverage Market Report for the First Half of 2024<\/em> is based on research involving nearly <strong data-start=\"2205\" data-end=\"2236\">1,000 restaurants and caf\u00e9s<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2238\" data-end=\"2267\">more than 2,300 consumers<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"2273\" data-end=\"2296\">1,307 F&B employees<\/strong> across Vietnam, representing diverse age groups and occupations. The report also references data from reputable market research firms, international sources, and expert opinions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2477\" data-end=\"2850\">As of June 2024, Vietnam recorded approximately <strong data-start=\"2525\" data-end=\"2548\">304,700 F&B outlets<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"2552\" data-end=\"2569\">3.9% decrease<\/strong> compared to 2023. At least <strong data-start=\"2597\" data-end=\"2638\">30,000 outlets nationwide have closed<\/strong>, while new openings remain limited. Despite these challenges, total industry revenue reached <strong data-start=\"2732\" data-end=\"2754\">VND 403.9 trillion<\/strong>, equivalent to <strong data-start=\"2770\" data-end=\"2825\">68.46% of total revenue for the entire year of 2023<\/strong>, exceeding expectations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2852\" data-end=\"3467\">From early 2024, F&B businesses experienced strong fluctuations in revenue. Although the year began with positive signals, a clear downward trend emerged by mid-year. Specifically, over <strong data-start=\"3038\" data-end=\"3099\">43.4% of businesses reported revenue declines in February<\/strong>, followed by a slight recovery in March, and then a steady decrease through mid-year. As a result, businesses have become increasingly cautious about expansion in the second half of 2024. Survey results show that <strong data-start=\"3313\" data-end=\"3373\">61.2% of businesses plan to maintain their current scale<\/strong>, while only <strong data-start=\"3386\" data-end=\"3412\">34.4% intend to expand<\/strong>, compared to <strong data-start=\"3426\" data-end=\"3435\">51.7%<\/strong> during the same period in 2023.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3469\" data-end=\"3968\">Despite economic pressure, Vietnamese consumers\u2019 passion for dining out remains strong. Instead of reducing dining frequency, many consumers have adopted more structured spending plans. High-frequency dining groups (3\u20134 times per week or daily) remained nearly unchanged compared to 2023, while the group dining out <strong data-start=\"3785\" data-end=\"3838\">1\u20132 times per week increased by 4.1% year-on-year<\/strong>. Overall, loyal customer segments continue to maintain their dining habits, highlighting the enduring appeal of the F&B industry.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3970\" data-end=\"4298\">Spending on caf\u00e9 visits declined sharply in the first half of 2024, along with reduced visit frequency. While the <strong data-start=\"4084\" data-end=\"4115\">VND 41,000\u201371,000 per drink<\/strong> price range gained popularity\u2014up <strong data-start=\"4149\" data-end=\"4158\">11.5%<\/strong> in consumer preference\u2014premium segments struggled. Spending above <strong data-start=\"4225\" data-end=\"4250\">VND 100,000 per drink<\/strong> dropped significantly from <strong data-start=\"4278\" data-end=\"4297\">6% to just 1.7%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4300\" data-end=\"4606\">This report also presents an in-depth human resources study, revealing that Vietnam currently employs approximately <strong data-start=\"4416\" data-end=\"4444\">2.89 million F&B workers<\/strong>, with <strong data-start=\"4451\" data-end=\"4478\">81.3% working part-time<\/strong>. While the industry provides substantial employment opportunities, it remains less attractive for long-term career orientation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"4613\" data-end=\"4657\">Vietnam F&B Summit 2024 \u2013 Smart Cash Flow<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"4659\" data-end=\"4894\">Amid a challenging market landscape, the ability to manage and allocate cash flow wisely has become a decisive factor for business survival.
